About us
The Killeen National Pan-Hellenic Council (KNPHC) is a collaborative organization that unites Nine Organizations speaking with One Voice to promote scholarship, service, and community engagement. Because we are a collective group, the representative colors of the NPHC are Black and White, representing neutrality. The council works towards community awareness and action through educational, economic, social, and cultural service activities to enhance the community's general well-being. This includes providing academic scholarships, promoting civic engagement, advocating for health and wellness, supporting economic empowerment programs, and encouraging personal growth and development.
Killeen NPHC History
The Killeen NPHC was established on September 27, 2003, after the initial planning meeting on January 23, 2003. The council started with local chapters from seven (7) of the nine (9) NPHC affiliate organizations:
· Kappa Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
· Killeen Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
· Killeen Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
· Mu Delta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
· Mu Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
· Omicron Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
· Theta Delta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Today, with the addition of the Alpha Gamma Omega Alumni Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. and the Mu Tau Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., all nine (9) affiliate organizations are active participants in the council.
Since the chartering of Killeen NPHC, our journey has been marked by countless triumphs in enriching the Central Texas community through hands-on volunteering and impactful mentorship programs. Our annual highlight, the Scholarship Reception for graduating high school seniors, has become a beacon of hope, having awarded over $200,000 in academic scholarships throughout the years, and our generosity knows no bounds. Our dedication knows no limits as we strive to leave a lasting impression on the Central Texas community, showcasing a commitment that transcends the college years— it's a lifelong pledge to uplift and empower individuals every step of the way!
